A graduate from Cardiff University of Wales and currently studying for a doctorate in Applied Sciences at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Serina Rahman is an accomplished environmentalist with a heart to match her diverse background of environmental ventures.

Serina not only encourages the protection and conservation of the environment but she strives to spread awareness and understanding of the environment to the world.  She is presently an ardent nature writer and she is a freelance editor in many nature publications those of which include Living Cities Singapore (Discovery Channel Asia & Ministry of Information, Communication and Arts, Singapore publication) and Gems of Straits of Malacca ( Universiti Malaya Marine Research Centre, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia).

Serina is also a regular contributor to Asian Geographic & Asian Geographic Junior: Asia at your Fingertips magazine, the Asian Geographic Passport - Travel without Borders magazine and several of the Malaysian Nature Society magazines (Oceanews, Pecinta Alam, Malaysian Naturalist)

In the cyber world, Serina is an active contributor to www.wildasia.org - a nature site which works with  businesses to promote sustainable practices that will minimize adverse impacts on the environment and ensure that local communities are engaged and empowered.

Moreover, Serina happens to be the co-founder and facilitator of the Kelab Alami Mukim Tg Kupang in Johor.

Here is a video of her in action, as she invites the Green Riders to the place where she works and lives.

Serina is also a Shark Week spokesperson for Discovery Networks Asia: Discovery Channel and a volunteer coordinator of the 2009 Raptor watch by the Malaysian Nature Society.

We are pleased to say that Serina Rahman will be joining us on the 5th of April next week during the talks & conferences session!
